Re: Should The ATP Let Go of the Service Let?

I have a question : are there still humans who keep their hand on the net in some tournaments ?

or is it the machine or nothing ?

and were there less unnecessary let calls when it was a human checking than with the machine ?

The only reason why I tend to think that that rule should go is these unnecessary let calls.

useless old guy

Re: Should The ATP Let Go of the Service Let?

No tournament has a net judge (or whatever they were called) anymore.

Let calls are so arbitrary and always annoy players. I think the let should be binned.

Yes. It's an outdated rule and getting rid would help the flow of matches.

Re: Should The ATP Let Go of the Service Let?

Let's make the lets in rallies like in serves - replay the point...

the let rule is stupid and it should have been abolished since the very first time a net judge has taken a ball in the face, which is probably the 60s

Re: Should The ATP Let Go of the Service Let?

the let is traditional and logical. without it players will get ridiculously dumb balls to play frequently!

definitely keep it 100%

If that happens I stop playing and watching tennis.

No-ad is the most retarded rule in history of the sport.

frequently? There are probably 2 serves per match that actually bounce off the net and get inside the box.

There are probably an average of 4-5 more that only a ninja can see or hear and that often is predisposition for quarrels.

Of course the net rule is a dumb one and it needs to get cut as soon as possible.

The no-ad though is the worst change in rules in the history of sports.
