at these posters saying Jerzy is nothing but a servebot...I have watched both of his matches the last two days and he has so much more variety and touch than Isner or Muglos will ever dream of....As the commentators stated repeatedly, he doesn't just go for outright winners all the time...He tries to construct the points and switch up the pace of the ball and has great hands at the net...His movement is excellent for a guy of his size which makes Isner look even more like a lumbering sloth
Jerzy seems to be able to employ tactics and since he has never played any of these guys in the Top 30, it will be a work in progress to figure out which tactics are best against which players...Undoubtedly though, he knows he can't outhit from the baseline which is why it is good that he recognizes that he needs to throw in more variety, something Isner and Muglos would benefit from if they had brains
As far as him being a Top 10 player, I would love to see that happen
but I think it is too early to tell...It will be very interesting to see what happens with him next year whereas he should be playing all main tour events and no Challengers...After such an amazing tournament here, it would be a shame if he had a slump at the beginning of the year or, god forbid, a horrible season like Donald Young had after a huge rise in the ranks...
If he continues to work hard and believe in his abilities, then the confidence will come and he could definitely be a Top 20 player...Confidence is key whereas several of the guys who have made it to the Top 10 arguably should not be there...Hopefully, he backs this amazing run up in 2013 and climbs the ranks
