Re: Janowicz - the latest hype job

Why would people not be excited about Janowicz when most of us are the same ones always asking when the next youth will make inroads toward the top of the game? Call it what you want, a tank or whatever, the fact is, en route to his first Masters semifinal, he just beat three players within the top twenty, two of which were in the top ten.

No matter which way you cut it, that's impressive for a youth coming from the Challengers (having won four of them this year).

Rude? Are you serious? I watched him the last two days and did not think he was rude at all...He is an excited young guy who is really appreciative and thrilled about this success...It means a great deal to him after many sacrifices...It is a sad day when people equate that to being rude

You are right, I wondered too.
But I saw at least 20 people who compared them and hear comentators say that Janowicz is not the next Rosol or something like that and my comparison is just a reaction to those posts and commentators.

I tried to show the differences but you did it better and for me it's like the comparison shows that you can not compare those two.

Don't worry, some of these bandwagons will probably claim this is not a bandwagon because they are all real fans who like janowicz's game, it happened to Klizan anyway

Yes i know you pointed out the differences too, my response was also to show difference, don´t get it why people are comparing ballbasher who is 27 and is happy to b ein top 100 and that´s it and young big server with big future. Totally different players

Rosol beat Nadal at W and didn't even qualify for the USO. We'll see what happens with Janowicz next season.

You're right (hoping you were not being sarcastic lol). I mean, Janowicz's hype train didn't really grew as much as, say, Goffin's and Klizan's and, IMO, he's got way more potential than both. Way more. Regardless, it's understandable that these latter two were getting more attention since positive results and improvements were appearing earlier for them but Janowicz has just so much more chances for bigger things in my eyes, great talent.

Re: Janowicz - the latest hype job

Janowicz is playing some good stuff, he clearly has a lot of game. He is being hyped alot just now but atleast the results are there to back up the hype. He has now reached a masters semi, unlike Raonic, now there is an overhyped player, and has showed he has some serious weapons.

Re: Janowicz - the latest hype job

Well other than this bandwagon is either about to be derailed by Simon or an over 30, his celebrations are like the worst parts of Nadal Djokovic and Tsonga all together.

He is much more pleasing to watch than Raonic, I'll give him that.

Re: Janowicz - the latest hype job

Who says you judge a player without seeing his play and reading & hearing his story?
We don't have a typical phoney with rich, misguided ignorant parents.
Jerzy has real actions & body language which reveal that he plays for himself and knows he's entertaining & athletic. He's not a coward who just crosses his fingers to impress sampras, agassi or federer types and brag about undeserving sponsor/charity money.
