the zeal has gone?

I don’t know if it’s Roger’s natural decline – or the absence of Rafa but lately my zeal for following tennis has dimed a bit – it’s not that I don’t accept the natural handing of the baton as it where; it’s just that I’m not that thrilled by the idea of tennis dominated by Novak and Andy; or to be more accurate the idea of not seeing tennis ala Wimbledon 2008

My feeling has nothing to do with the quality of Novak’s and Andy tennis – they’ve improved leaps and bounds in the last three years or so it’s just that there isn’t much contrast in their style to keep me captivated the way Rafa and Roger did; their isn’t that not-so thinly veiled digs…anyone else feeling it!

Re: the zeal has gone?

Djokovic-Murray rivalry wouldn't be as exciting, that's the reason. They are quality players, but not nearly as good as Fedal. And well, their matches are not that good...The surface barely matters.

Re: the zeal has gone?

Somewhat true. I find it hard to watch anyone on tour except Fed because their games are so similar. I really miss fast court tennis. I saw a bit of Llodra yesterday and it was so nice to watch (even if DelPo was losing ). I think becoming such a big fan has dented my desire to watch as much tennis outside Fed but I am trying .

Just watch the Querrey Raonic match over and over again to get your fix.
No boring pushing point there.

don't worry, the 2009 talented attacking del potro will soon be back, he'll save tennis from the boring pushing grindfest that it has become lately

Re: the zeal has gone?

It's simple. Federer was a temporary reprieve for tennis. After he's gone, the execution will proceed.
