How about a change in the rankings such that Rafa, Djokovic and Murray are in the same half, with whoever grinds their way out of that half playing a fresh Fed in the final?

Nadal's not going through Murray and Djoker. Or if he is, he'd be ripe for dinner .

I hate to mention the elephant in the room, but there's no guarantee Federer would reach the final even with the rest of the top 4 in the other half of the draw: he has lost to other players in Slams in the last few years, including his last two Slam matches to Berdych.

Re: Do you want to see Nadal vs Federer slam final in 2013?

berdych gets his oxygen from beating federer in slams

i don't think federer will win a slam next year

will reach at least one semi-final, possibly a final

question is whether he maintains his QF streak

And who's beating RF pre-QF (unless he falls out of the top 4)? Rosol? Fed is no one-trick pony like Moonballdal.

only takes one shock loss. it's nearly happened a few times in the past 3 years

losing to soderling in FO 2010 was considered a shock loss, even though soderling is/was very good on RG clay, it was still a shock that he lost before the SF in a grand slam

it will end, and i think it will end at either AO or FO

I only see two possible players who could potentially do it: Raonic and Gulbis. Both would need to be absolutely redlining of course to take 3 sets off Federer. Although imo if Gulbis reached his full potential beating Federer in a Slam wouldn't even be that shocking of a result, he has no less tools than the other big hitters.

Don't think Federer would ever lose to a player like Rosol; he had his Rosol vs Falla and survived (although Falla has less weapons, he was on fire).

Federer's QF streak should continue for a while, only the top 4 and the top big hitters can beat him in Slams at the moment imo.

That goes without saying. But it'd be nice to have the opposite of the USO 2010 happening. I mean honestly, Stupid Saturday with Nadal playing first semi against a tired Youzhny and Djokovic-Federer playing second with the final on the very next afternoon was ridiculous. As it turned out, the final was pushed back another day but that wasn't known before the two semis were completed. Sure the results might not have changed, but I doubt Federer would've given up on sets 2 and 4 that easily had he known there'd be a day of rest before the final.

Re: Do you want to see Nadal vs Federer slam final in 2013?

I would like to see them v each other in wimby or USO

RG is boring bc I can't stand clay events but AO can be great also.

I hope nole and rafa will meet in sf all year

'Topspindoctor is the greatest MTF poster of all time' option in the poll? What are you, Hian? Get your shit together Topspinny.

And I would want to see it only if they can play even close to their 'best' (current best, like Fed in this summer, not in 2006, bcs that's not going to happen). I don't want to see 2 out of form guys playing, with Nadal winning due to bunch of UEs from Roger. Current Roger vs not fully recovered Rafa - I don't want to watch that.

Djokovic | Tipsarevic | Querrey

Yes, if Federer wins.
ergo: No.

Re: Do you want to see Nadal vs Federer slam final in 2013?

AO F - they won´t both make F there with Nole and Andy, so i don´t think it is possible for them to play AO F - we don´t need AO SF between them

RG - i don´t want them to play at RG for obvious reasons- it won´t be competitive match, howewer RG F is very possible - we don ´t have the draw but if Nole-Rafa will be in the same half Rafa can eliminate him and make F and Roger will have Andy.. who won´t even make SF but hope they won´t play at RG

Wimbledon - This would be probably best if Wimby would be their last slam F or last slam match - I like Roger´s chances there - especially under the roof - If Roger ends up with Nole in SF and Andy with Rafa in SF then very possible F - of course someone like Berdych,Tsonga or else can spoil this party

USO - not F - because the same with AO - i don´t think they can both make it to F, even Delpo should be factor at USO, so don´t see them make it to F both, but SF between them would be nice and would like it, because they never faced each other at USO - hope just that Decoturt will play like it should and won´t be so slow

Well, as long as this is wishing there's no problem placing Berdych on the other side of the draw as well, plenty of room there (assuming DelPo/Ferrer is #4 after Nadal and not Berdych). He might lose even then, but you wouldn't bet against him, would you?

So, since people on this forum generally dislike Mandy Mugray in slam final, I am wondering if people want to relive the good old days and see another Fedal classic in 2013 and if so at which slam?
No.
