I'm a Fed fan, but for me it's curious for ppl rating his or Pony's FHs better than Nadal's, that's just insane.

Anytime Rafa can turn around and hit the ball with the FH - you know this point is slowly (or not) becoming his biatch.

No one is That dominant with this shot. The guy has barely any serve, BH, slice, volleys, technique, etc. But he has this FH. And psycho-physical abilities as well ofc, but it's all about this powerful whip.
No.

Monaco's forehand is not #10. It's definitely ahead of Tipsarevic, and as a rally shot I think it's better than Murray's.

Re: Rank the forehands of the top 10 from best to worst

Federer (Very big, yet solid, rarely misses short balls- Basel aside)
Nadal (Used to be #1, still the best on clay, huge amounts of spin)

del Potro (A bit overrated. Very big, but I think he might actually make more defensive shots off his backhand)
Ferrer (Very solid shot, both dictates and defends well)
Djokovic (His weak wing but still deep and consistent. Was better a year ago)

Tsonga (Flashy and big, but not a consistent shot)

Berdych (Meh, can go really off)
Murray (#10 a year ago, quite improved)
Monaco (His best shot but still only good enough for #9)
Tipsarevic (Can have flashes but his worst shot, I think. Serve, return, backhand, volleys all better)

Djokovic's FH better than Nadal. Same for Tsonga and Berdych. Don't understand people rating Tsonga's FH so highly - it's his serve/FH combo that's good - the FH alone is nothing like the weapon Nadal's is. This is a straight contest between Nadal and Federer with good arguments for both - I'd take Nadal on clay & Federer on hard & grass.

Re: Rank the forehands of the top 10 from best to worst

So far chosen as #1.

Federer - 11

Del Potro - 6

Nadal - 5

Everyone else - 0

Sounds legit. These three are clearly the only three than can be argued as the best, and this place has more Federer fans than any other fanbase so expected results. Nadal with his top spin, Juan with his (consistent) power and Federer with his variety all have unique forehands in their own way, which set them above the field in this department.

Re: Rank the forehands of the top 10 from best to worst

1. Federer (best combination of attack, variety, flat and spin, returning and passing shots)
Tie 2. Nadal (best FH on clay and very even with Roger on grass)
Tie 2. Del Potro (probably the most consistently big forehand)
4. Ferrer
5. Djokovic
6. Tsonga (mishits too many forehands and doesn't return well enough off this shot)
Tie 7. Berdych (huge forehand when on but unreliable)
Tie 7. Murray (forehand has gotten a lot better but still attackable in rallies)
9. Monaco
10. Tipsarevic (unreliable, doesn't move well to the forehand side)

Re: Rank the forehands of the top 10 from best to worst

Of course ppl are attacking Rafa's FH side - he's playing from the BH corner all the time

I'm afraid in 5 years MTF will have forgotten about Federer and the new legen will be some Nishikori or Tomic

It took a few months for ppl to forget what Rafa's FH really is, so things are desperate...

Oh, please... Ugly forehand of Nadal - is no forehand, it's - a perversion.
