on second thoughts, if you're merely questioning his inclusion, i was doing the race list posted in the equivalent serve thread.

He is, kind of. Basel/Valencia points from last year haven't been dropped yet, that's why Monaco is still #10 and not #13.

Re: Rank the ROS of the top 10 from best to worst

1. Djokovic. His ROS sucks only on grass where it`s smarter to return using simple block, but apart from that he is unarguable #1 here.
2. Murray. This guy can return in play the biggest quantaty of serves, any serves. Nightmare for bigservers.
3. Ferrer. Players themselves call him to be the best in business. IMO, he is bit behind TOP-2 who are taller and have longer hands what really is advantage, easy.
4. Berdych.
5. Monaco. This guys is winning his matches not due to his serve.
6. Del Potrp.
7. Federer.
8. Tipsarevic.
9. Tsonga.

I won`t rank Rafa.

Gasquet is next №1

Re: Rank the ROS of the top 10 from best to worst

during the finals between nole and andy in shanghai 2012, robbie koenig said nole was head and shoulders above everyone else in ROS.

ASI Director-General Gautam Sengupta said the list of India's treasures held abroad was "too long to handle" and there was a need for a "diplomatic and legal campaign" for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the Royal Collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Re: Rank the ROS of the top 10 from best to worst

Monaco is one of thr better returners in the game...

Djokovic
Ferrer
Murray

Monaco
Berdych
Tipsarevic
Nadal

del Potro
Federer

Tsonga

Top 3 all very close, with Djokovic best on hard, Ferrer on clay, and Murray on grass

Re: Rank the ROS of the top 10 from best to worst

1.Djokovic (better than aynone else at returning it deep even missiles, can vary his returns, as good on 1rst than on 2nd serves etc... )

2.Murray (very consistent, great at punishing 2nd serves but not as good on first serves)
3.Ferrer
4.nadal
5.Federer
6.Monaco
7.Berdych
8.Del Potro
9.Tipsarevic

10.Tsonga

Re: Rank the ROS of the top 10 from best to worst

Federer's slice backhand return is pathetic. I am sorry to say that, but its a huge disadvantage on return games. It just gives the opponent the initiative. He used to be much more aggressive!

There is many aspects to the return of serve, just like to the backhand or forehand.

Also are we talking peak ROS, career long or right now?

Those stats of Murray are very pretty, but if instead of career you choose 2011 or 2012, the figures change a bit.

Re: Rank the ROS of the top 10 from best to worst

Djokovic is an overrated returner. Just go watch Indian Wells SF highlights. Isner had nothing that day but a few big forehands and lots of big serving. Pretty sure Murray would have seen him off, reminds me of their US Open match from 2011.

1. Murray
2. Ferrer
3. Djokovic
4. Tipsarevic
5. Monaco
6. Berdych
7. Federer
8. Nadal
9. Del Potro
10. Tsonga
