He doesn't really know how to tank, though.

Crap, worst possible draw for Dimitrov - Melzer

Agressive, experienced lefty...you can't get a much worse match up..

Re: WWW Paris Masters + Main draw discussion

Federer already accomplished his goals for this year. Plus, Federer always thinks at least a year ahead. He may not play Basel next year and with his withdrawal from Paris this year, he won't have Paris points to defend. It will be a far more comfortable end of season next year.

Congrats to him for his incredible year which would have been perfect with a win at RG or USO
djokovic was very unlucky with the rain in the RG final, but at the US open he only has himself to blame, he fought so hard to get back to 2 sets all and then mugged it up completely in the 5th set, and also his ability to handle the wind is a joke, it wasn't even that bad in the final but it was still enough to screw up his game

Shouldn't Kohli and Monaco move, because of the rankings of last week?

Re: WWW Paris Masters + Main draw discussion

Translated text from http://sport.ch.sportalsports.com/sp...089100000.html

Roger Federer cancelled his start at the Masters in Paris-Bercy next week after the final defeat of Basel. "It's too much for me, I want to prepare myself properly for the World Tour Finals," said the Swiss. He had some minor "aches and pains" and would therefore not like to take any chances.

"It was a last minute decision, I have already informed tournament director Guy Forget," continued Federer. "I'm disappointed that I can not compete. I would like to defend my title. Sorry for the fans."

"I always knew it would be close, if I were to play here (Basel) in the final. It is difficult for me, to play all three tournaments (Basel, Paris, London) one after the other."

He will decide in his schedule about how he wants to approach this triple next year.

The Swiss is aware that this gives the tennis throne to Novak Djokovic. The number 1 at the end did not play a role in his decision. "I would have canceled even if I had won in Basel," clarifies Federer.

He'll give himself a few days break. "I will not practice immediately, I'll probably go back to the racquet on Thursday or Friday."

The decision to skip Paris, he had mainly in view of the World Tour Finals in London. "After a break, I am confident that I can play full out in London." The cancellation of Paris was the only right decision. (SMA)

silver lining are you sure about that?

Shouldn't 3 go in place of 1. 5 in place of 3. 9 in place of 5. 17 in place of 9 and LL/Q in place of 17?

This sounds the most likely.

Yes, I'm sure.

Re: WWW Paris Masters + Main draw discussion

I think there's a problem: the OOP was already released and Kohli is there, even if he is supposed to have bye if the draw is changed.

Re: WWW Paris Masters + Main draw discussion

Then the LL will probably just fill Fed's spot or the winner of Baghdatis/Simon gets a W/O into R3.

Re: WWW Paris Masters + Main draw discussion

Thanks. but it also says the replacement only occurs if the withdrawal is before the order of play of the following day. Does this mean that there might be no change?
