What about the best stroke of 2012 made in the post-season exhibition?

Point at 5:45. Makes it even more incredible when you add the situation to it, crazy attacking from Berdych yet even crazier defense from Nadal.

The whole first set in that match had a lot of great points, I think every point in the tiebreak ended on a winner too which is insane considering they played 12 points in it!

Breathtaking. I don't know how he does it sometimes.

Amazing defense as we expect from Nadal but on the other hand Berdych of course decides to come to the net with a lousy, relatively short and centered approach shot after crushing the ball extremely deep several times just before that...

Release the Stanimal!!

Great as a point, but pale compared to at least 3 of the points in the Murray - Llodra match.

Not even a distant competitor as a shot

That approach shot was harder than it looks. That ball came back so short and low from the net, and that BH pass attempt came at him so suddenly. Handled it pretty well given the circumstances, except for that last shot where he anticipated wrongly.

It was one of the best matches of the year in terms of quality in my opinion. That was Berdych at pretty much his best, and he was very, very close to being 2-0 up. 3rd and 4th sets would be up there with the best sets I've ever seen Nadal play on hardcourts. He was being so aggressive on the return, dictating, plus still playing amazing defence when Berdych had the tempo. Tough defeat for Berdych, he played so well for so long, but Nadal is just incredible when he has his back against the wall.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

Re: Best shots/points of 2012

I remember Berdych's set point in the second set - he made the difficult first volley and then failed on the easier second one... that was pretty much the turning point! I agree it was a high quality match and good drama.

Release the Stanimal!!
