George you are a legend, this is the kind of fan I respect. You're actually realistic about Klizan!

I was giving him a credit in past when he overcame a good player playing well, just this is happening once per year so you don't have a chance to read it. Even if he isn't such huge mug players like him are bad for the sport. The guy was in top 10, for years he is in top 20 without reaching single one Masters 1000 semifinal. Then look at this year,he is close to top 10 with just only one mentionable win against Isner in Madrid which at the moment when happened looked bigger than it was when you look Isner's result at that period. He was in obvious hangover after IW/Dc successes. Then, just look Shanghai tournament, even to me he looked like he is having some momentum, playing decent tennis but just to give walkover to awful Fed. Players at his position should live for matches like that one but he lives to disappear at it. I tell you , Troicki like

Anyway, I think you have to be quite deluded to expect Kližan to beat Cilic more than about 1 in 5 times on a hard-court.

On a clay-court, I'd fancy Martin Kližan's chances a bit more. Not on hard-courts, though.

I heard since he got Kucera as coach he's much more dedicated.

Still don't understand this hype for Klizan. He is just little more brainy player than Chardy and that's all

Kucera is dedicated. Not Martin, though!

I expect Martin to keep improving, but he still has attitude issues that need to be addressed. What a talent he is, though.

I don´t understand neither, but it seems people like him.

Roger Federer - Martin Klizan - Lukas Lacko - Milos Raonic - Fernando Verdasco

Dustin Brown - Nick Kyrgios - Norbert Gombos - Stanislas Wawrinka - Dominic Thiem

Of course, but he did no work whatsoever, before.

Coaches can change mentalities, but I'm not sure if they can change something that is much deeper, perhaps ingrained. Certainly they can't influence it to a large scale.

Well, we'll see where Kližan is this time next year. I hope it's in the top 20 or better, but I'm doubtful.

To some extant all you wrote is true. But I guess players like Cilic are great for this sport. He is good on all surfaces, can offend and defend simulteneously. Marin has the weapons to finish the points and he isn`t afraid of rallies either. Serve is his main weakness, I believe with Almagro`s serve, for example, he would be permanent TOP-10 player on Berdych`s level.

Yep, he isn`t the guy with the strongest mentality, but the same time isn`t that bad as you describe.

Gasquet is next №1

Since Kucera has been his coach, the progress speaks for itself.

Klizan made his peak in the season. It's normal to have a little downtrend after his 1st title...
