Stockholm R2 Spartan Leyton outlasts Nieminen 7-6 2-6 6-4

Hewitts tank looked empty in the 2nd set after yesterday's nightmatch but made it in the end. Both players dropped serve often.

Patchy match from both players. Some very good tennis and some very basic errors. The Shark hung himself down mp, snatched at a volley and drove it into the net. The previous point was vintage Hewitt, coming up with a pass on the back of an entertaining exchange.

I notice that Lleyton is looking to come up with winners on the bigger points rather than counterpunching. Missing a fair bit while doing it but it's the right thing to do at this stage of his career.

Impressed by Hewitts hustle in the end. Great to have him in the 1/4.

Damn . Jarkko had a break in the third and really hit a poor shot on MP... But Hewitt was the better player in third. Hope he goes far here.

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.
Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

The most disappointing thing is that both threads have mistakes in the title. I'm not angry.... just disappointed...

I should be doing these threads. My titles always contain the correct score, seed number and complete name with no nicks. I did a few rare exceptions, but not anymore.
