Well done Mandy, not a great match, but you showed who is boss of Shanghai. Take the title!

Roger terrible play today!

Reason why Federer was so bad is that Murray was so good - especially on returns of Federer's 2nd serve.

Simply Murray didnt give him a chance.

I feel sorry for Murray.

Not a single cheer after he won.

Was all boos, jeers, or plain groans of disgust.

this bad and old federer is nº1 in time of peak djokovic....strong era ever jaja.

anyway , fed wasn`t in his best form for this tournament , he said after the davis cup that he needed rest because he was tired and hurt , his serve low very much since the us open where he serves very bad too , maybe his back problems returns again and with 31 years old the time for recovery are more longs.

federer not looks confortable in china after the intenet incident with that tard too.

if nole not played in beijing , for sure federer should skip shangai but for mantain the nº1 for 300 weeks he play here.

it`s dangerous but the record is amazing , maybe the better for him should not playing in shangai and be very fresh for the indoor season

by the way , I think that maybe a new era will start , the nole-murray era and the fedal era it`s everyday more far in the past , federer old and very irregular and nadal with many injurys......but I have not doubts that peak fedal was much better than peak nole-andy

Andy you fucking legend.

Such a joke the old man is number 1, ranking system needs to get rid of mugs like Federer being No.1 and Ferrer being No.5.

Took a page from Nadal's book, he should hire Tio Toni as coach to explain him better how to do it.

8th day of July 2012: 7-time Wimbledon champion!

Once upon a time there was a myth about strong and weak eras. On this glorious day the clownery was eventually unmasked: 30 y.o. past-prime daddy Fed became #1 once again in the supposed strong "Spartan" era with his rivals at their peak.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!

Other than that, my eyes are in need of a bleaching ASAP.
Obviously did not watch the match.

Murray was very impressive with the 1st serve and return of serve.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

Forget the match, did anyone else follow PseudoFed's tweets during the match? So much hilarity.

Re: Shanghai SF: Murray routines Federer 6-4 6-4

for all kind of reasons this match was
Roger has been playing like shit all week but Murray too a long time to take advantage today cause he played like a retard on most of the 425265589 BP he got.Poor attitude from both at times, Roger challenging his inner Murray self and starting to talk to himself out of frustration And that desperate attempt at delaying the inevitable in the first game of the 2nd set
Out of all this mess, they did play a couple of brilliant points tho.

Murray returns were just brilliant, can't say the same about Roger's, he played terrible..those 3 DFS in a row in the first set..and he didn't even try in that last game, the match point was a joke.

Brotree stop commentating when you have no idea. Some of the comments about Murray playing shit or average in this match are deluded to say the least.

I've seen Federer play much worse in the last couple of years than he did today. Shanghai final 2010 springs to mind, versus Murray.

Federer didn't play that badly today, was ordinary, no where near JesusFed level obviously. And his second serve has become a serious liability, what with the Berdych destruction of it at the US Open, and here today Murray took it apart. Murray I thought played very well, served and returned excellently. Should be a very close final.

I think it's fair to say, the real numbers 1 and 2 in the world are currently Murray and Djokovic. Federer is back at number 3 on current form, and I'm sure the rankings will reflect that by the end of the year.

Re: Shanghai SF: Murray routines Federer 6-4 6-4

easy as it comes. both guys played more or less nothing just murray has return, fed hasn't. fed looks like is in '09 post USO hangover all over again. No movement, no serve, no occasional return, no nothing. Would be really surprised if he even menages to win Basel. And for murray... he should give decent walkover to nole tomorrow

And Fed you didn't need that raining adventure . Playing like this you wouldn't have won neither if this match was played in vacuum conditions at your bedroom

Re: Shanghai SF: Murray routines Federer 6-4 6-4

Exceptional returning from Murray and solid on serve as well. Put a lot of pressure on Fed's serve from the very beginning and didn't give him much time to settle.
