You are right, watching two clowns make 100+ UE in a 2 set match is high quality entertainment

Because when a ballbasher is on, it's spectacular. When a pusher is on, it's good at best.

Nadal can actually hit a forehand properly, which can't be said the same for Mandy. Also 11 slams vs 1 fluke slam. Nadal is a much better and more talented player than the hooligan from Scotland and their careers reflect it. Mandy will be back to crying with RU plates as soon as AO next year

No one. I just found it hilarious, and I felt that my opinion would be valued among real tennis fans. Problem?

Sapeod isn't even a tennis fan, just a clueless fangirl whose career goal is to be Mandy's personal maid.

1 deserved slam > 11 fluked slams

Well it wasn't valued by me, which means it has no value whatsoever. TF is where you are looking to comment.

He's one of the most talented players in tennis, but he's pretty content to mug around and wait for his opponents to make mistakes when he's not playing the top dogs.

Murray is to talent as Federer is to emotion.

Re: Why are ballbashers more highly regarded than tacticians like Murray?

You know damn well why this is Sapeod, so don't play naive. Murray's game style is so boring sometimes that I find my self looking in the crowd for someone picking his nose just to justify watching the game (it's worse with Nadal BTW).

Delpo's matches in comparison are a party to the eyes.

People like watching Delpo much more and people tend to go with what they like.

Wow someone is really bitter. It is pretty funny, I'm not really a huge fan of Murray, but the amount of stupidity and lack of regard on this forum is insane sometimes. Seriously, all those that said Murray wouldn't pick up a slam, have made so many asinine excuses and now they are on the "Murray will be a one-slam wonder" train. What is next after that? Murray will only be a two-slam wonder? I mean it is only fucking logical a player like him who has consistently been knocking on the door, regardless of how "bad" of a player he may be in comparison to Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, should most likely pick up more titles. I mean it isn't like people are waiting for someone like Ferrer to pick up a GS, this guy Murray makes consistent slam SFs and finals..

Regardless, variety is always good to have on a tour. We need the ballbashers, the counter-punchers, the defensive baseliners, the all-round players, the big servers, etc. You may dislike them, but fact is you need all those types just like any sport needs the variety of personalities on tour as well. It adds extra drama and excitement. Murray's style can be frustrating to watch, as he is certainly capable of playing good offensive tennis, especially by coming to the net, however, again, his tactics clearly work for him, boring or not.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Re: Why are ballbashers more highly regarded than tacticians like Murray?

I just enjoy more the attack-tennis style, and is like you have the control of the game, while if you are just defending..you depend more of your opponent, if he is playing good or bad, is boring. I think Murray is smarter than normal pushers, he is like a tactician, but sometimes I'd like him to be more aggressive, search more the point, I think he has improved in this regard, but still not enough.

Roger Federer

Form is temporary, class is permanent

"The more you lose, the more they believe they can beat me. But believing is not enough, you still have to beat me" RF.

"He is capable of hitting shots which others don't even think about trying" Lendl on RF.
