Good job winning the battle of the sexiest Grisha.

Niceish win for Dimi, too bad he's got Nole in R2, it wasn't routine when Dimi served for the match, he almost got broke, but managed to hold it together.

Dimitrov played well today. I fear for his match with Djokovic though. Playing well twice in a row seems to be a luxury with him. It'll be interesting though.

He wasn't actually playing very well, but he focused when he was under pressure which is a good sign.

Good win for Dimi, needs to be winning matches like this on a regular basis if he is to make the step up. No pressure on his 2nd round match v Nole so hopefully he can give a good showing

Re: Shanghai R1: Dimitrov routines Andujar 7-5 6-3

Good win for Grigor. He was too passive in the 1st set but stayed in front and raised his level to win it. He was far more aggressive in the 2nd set and was virtually unplayable when he won 10 out of 11 points to take an early lead. He served great, fired winners from every part of the court and chased down all Andujar's drop shots with ease. He really is a confidence player and when he relaxes and goes for his shots, it is beautiful to watch.

The next match against Novak should be interesting. If he plays like he did in the 1st set today, Novak will win easily by controlling the rallies and forcing Grigor to make errors. If however he plays like the 2nd set, it could a far closer match than many are expecting. I'm a huge Novak fan but I'm supporting Grigor in this match. He has the game to trouble the top guys, he just has to be more consistent and believe in himself. He has the talent but up until now he has lacked the mental strength and focus to match it.

Was it just me or did the court really look quite quick? I didn't watch Shanghai last year and barely saw anything in 2010, so it's refreshing to see this quick court.

Always gets the toughest draws imaginable. Makes even winning these 1st round matches pointless given the beating he gets from the top guys in 2nd rounds.

You know that things are tough for Dimitrov when winning a hardcourt match against Andujar is worth getting excited about.

They said before last year's event they would speed it up to try get Federer to play (he didn't anyway!). It was very slow the two years before that.

Kinda lame when tournaments are deliverately fiddling things to attract one player. Happens all the times with 250s, but masters shouldn't be doing it imo.
