Agree. 2011 was his peak year but he is past his peak now.

Like Wilander after 1988. Djokovic does not ride the rails and is a better player than Wilander though and should win a few more slams but his dominance over the tour is over.

I always felt like a true no. 1 should never lose a single match to any other tennis player throughout his whole career. Only then can you show truly undisputed dominance. In fact, it would be even better if this real no. 1 never lost a single point in his whole career. Again, that would show truly unrivaled dominance.

I hope one day to see that sort of player, and this current top 4 will comparatively look like a bunch of jokes.

Bump.

After 3 losses to Nadal, 2 to Fed, and 2 to Murray: streak broken. 5-7, 7-6, 6-3. And it only took 5 championship points saved with unreal tenacity to do it. Djokovic was behind in winners for most of the Shanghai final, but ended with 32 > 30 from Murray.

I know this is "only" TMS Shanghai, but a big mental accomplishment for Nole to overcome Andy today. Particularly as he had lost five consecutive sets vs. the Brit that went to 5-5, and was one point away from losing a sixth. Didn't want this to become a huge mental block for him going into 2013.

For all those who say June-Sept isn't a long time, remember it's the heart of the tennis season and featured 4/5 of 2012's biggest events.

Djoker beat Federer at RG and Fed is certainly still a member of the Top 4.
And about those 4/5 biggest events...the WTF is not necessarily worth less than the Olympics so what your saiyng is pretty arbitrary.
