It's truly remarkable that everyone is seething about Murray (winning a slam) when he has LOST.

Y'all are so predictable.

But surely if Andy was a deserving, legit slam champion he would win every single match he plays for the rest of his career?

The odd thing is that the rest of his sommer/autumn season has been substandard. Neither in Toronto, Cincinnatti or now Tokyo did he live up to expectations - old ones or new. Quite a reverse from former times.

This was truly a great result from Milos. If I am not mistaken, he is now one match win away from becoming the first Canadian ever to be the highest ranked North American. Next target then DelPo, and the title of best American regardless of North or South. That will be tougher, but I'm sure he'll get there eventually.

mental strength is half the battle when it comes to grand slams, so i reckon we'll see him in a QF final soon, probably at wimbledon

murray was so negative, moody and generally a loser

clearly kim isn't fucking him enough and lendl isn't beating him enough with his golf club

Goes to show, Murray is a man of all the people. He wins Olympic Gold and the US Open to please his long suffering fans, and then he throws in losses like this to keep the haters happy. Could he be more awesome?

What a joke. A guy who's reached 5 slam finals is now a 'fluke' because he loses in some MM tournament.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind if any of it was actually funny, but it seems their wit is stretched to the limit with shit like "worst slam winner ever"....... It really is quite sad. People have no perspective. I for one remember the ridicule following the Chardy loss, "and this guy's supposed to be a slam contender?" etc. Well we saw how that one turned out, and only a fool would continue to doubt Slamray.

Very well done to Raonic though, played a great match. I don't suppose I should be surprised by the levels of delusion on this forum, but it's about time people recognised what a serious player he is. Was a funny match really, I felt Raonic deserved the win, but Murray really should have seen it out, so close to being 5-1 up, then giving up his serve, and just some very disappointing errors. Shaky match, but credit to Raonic and I'll be happy for either player to win the final.
