Beijing 1R: Mr. Anderson def. Brian Baker 5-7, 6-3, 6-1

Each time I glanced at the scoreboard Brian was up in a game, every single time I looked back, he had gone on to lose the game. Run out of gas in the final set? Who knows. Well, at least he qualified...

Re: Beijing 1R: Mr. Anderson def. Brian Baker 5-7, 6-3, 6-1

Collapsed after failing to convert a game point in the 6th game of the 2nd set.

Had great return numbers in the 1st set (Anderson was under 70% pts won behind his first serve despite hitting 8 aces) then Anderson lost only one point behind 1st serve in set 2 and 3.

"Good for tennis". This is neither good nor bad, for tennis.

Still bitter, I see.

baker needs to seriously re-think things

if he doesn't start finding some form, can't see 2013 being positive

5-7

Baker: You hear that Mr. Anderson?... That is the sound of inevitability... It is the sound of your death... Goodbye, Mr. Anderson...

Anderson: My name... is Kevin.

6-3, 6-1

It's good for tennis that this fluke is being found out.

it seems his biggest problem is fitness, he just gets so tired after qualifying to get into a tournament that if a match goes on a few sets he burns out

physically he struggles and with that fixed he would win drastically a lot more. this may not be something that he can fix however, when you've had the extreme surgeries and body problems that he has you can't just magically will the body to stop breaking down

he is in a tricky situation, the more he trains, the more likely something goes awry with one of the parts of his body he's had surgery. at the same time unless he is in great form and mindset he will likely struggle against players who's bodies are more fit

really unfortunate that he had such serious body breakdowns so young in his career. you all seem disappointing but you should to some degree appreciate and respect that Brian came back to the pro tour after such a big layoff and after such an extreme surgery. no one has ever done it before. hats off to him, and you all suck for your unrealistic predictions. so what if he has only a few good tournaments a season, that is still pretty impressive given what he's been through and what he has to cope with
