St. Petersburg 2R: The Fog deals a crushing blow to Stakhovsky 7-6(4), 6-4

Onwards and upwards. Pissed away various break leads in both sets, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Although we definitely would. Several foot faults also thrown in for good measure (counted 5, including 2 in the last game) Oh and an absolutely gorgeous forecourt point to set up one the MPs at *5-2

'Bashvili or Bautista-Agut next in the QF.

Re: St. Petersburg 2R: The Fog deals a crushing blow to Stakhovsky 7-6(4), 6-4

Watched since the beginning of the second set, Fognini was playing really, really good tennis. Until that Match point wasting hiccup, that is. But then he got himself composed again and waited for some Stakhovsky errors to finish the match off.

Fognini is really talented, but I think he doesnt even understand it

Also, does anyone else really like the way Fognini makes contact with the ball? Seems so smooth, and after the shot he just releases his hands down as if he doesnt care. Fognini sadly, just doesnt give a shit

Oh yeh, undeniably - this played out like most of his matches, so many random lapses, lazy BH DTLs into the net, it's just The Fog. Chance for a great week though

oh and 0 aces, 6 DFs - improving slightly...

10? only counted 5, even better!

so 10 footfaults, 6 DFs, 0 aces. Dreamlike stats.

Its even more hilarious because some of those came on second serves and Fognini looked at the linespeople as if he was going to kill them

nah, just lazy. He seems to treat every game the same, serve or return, being broken at *5-2 is just standard, it's happened enough times, so he's a master at dealing with it/not caring that it happened.

that would be because his parents already bought him a Ferrari

on a serious note, I love Fognini, really talented guy.
