WWW Campinas R1: Bogomolov vs Bogo

Bogomolov back on the challengers tour for the first time since last year's grass season, where he will play some Brazilian named Bogo.

Bogo is 0-3 for his career and 0-2 on the year, which includes eating the maximum number of bagels (4) in those two matches.

Could be a hell of a match, especially if the scoreboard operators have some confusion with the names.

...well I actually made this thread because one doesn't often see a bigger disparity between tennis players in a professional match. Murray vs Bram in last year's Davis Cup may have been even more extreme.

Will Bogo win his first game of the year or will Bogomolov double bagel him? And how the hell did Bogo get a WC into this tournament? Good juniors player?

Supporting the unusual strokes gang: Dolgopolov, Mayer, Mannarino, Tomic

I'll go with Bogomuglov, and Bogo takes 1 game.

Game over. Forever.

Re: WWW Campinas R1: Bogomolov vs Bogo

probably Bogomolov 6-0 6-1 with the first set being a golden set

Never thought I'd ever predict a golden set for Bogomolov

Tennis wins here

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

it'd be cool if there was a player named Molov and he played Bogo it'd be Bogo v. Molov

Re: WWW Campinas R1: Bogomolov vs Bogo

On the ITF site, it lists Bogo as a 17 year old with no junior record.

I do think Bogo will get a game. The pressure of getting a double bagel will get to Alex at 6-0 5-0.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

Re: WWW Campinas R1: Bogomolov vs Bogo

This Bogo-kid keeps getting wildcards for challengers. I think no one understand why, not even in Brazil. Supposedly he's the leader on the 18-year rankings at the state of São Paulo, which amounts to pretty much nothing.

TT Palmarès

Titles: Astana 2 CH '11, Challenger Tour Finals '11, Kuala Lumpur '12 (w/Dudisela75), Bressuire Futures '13 (w/Marita)

Finals: Fürth CH '11, Orleans CH '11, Petange CH '12, TT Euro '12 (w/Vilnietè)

SF: Australian Open '12, Memphis '12

Re: WWW Campinas R1: Bogomolov vs Bogo

Bogomolov simply made smart decision to stay in Brazil after DC match Brazil vs Russia.
Compare with Andreev who prefered to return in Russia to play StPetersburg ATP250

Re: WWW Campinas R1: Bogomolov vs Bogo

Bogomolov is just electing to do Challengers, was within St Petersburg entry list. Probably due to where he is.
This score could be amusing (now watch it be 64 67 63 or something)

Actually this doesn't happen that rarely, there is a similar match to this almost every week in the challenger tour. For example, just check Petange challenger (Luxembourg) last week. It had at least 2 similar matches.

Jan Hernych - Maciej Najfeld (Luxembourg player who didn't have any info at all, no birth date, no results, nothing), which ended 6:0, 6:0
Niels Desein - Gauthier Stauffer (French player, also not a lot of info available), ended 6:0, 6:2

As for this match, could be a double bagel, if Bogomolov will want that And good idea of opening thread due to the similarity of surnames Murray - Bram could indeed be one of the most extreme disparities in the recent years.
