Davis Cup Playoff; Flo Mayer def. Hewitt 7-5 6-3 6-2 (Ger-Aus 1-1)

Too funky from Flo who played an outstanding match and the donkey kick dropshot is still a thing of beauty.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Mayer was way to good today, combined deft touch with some miraculous shotmaking and completely blew Rusty off the court.

Bogans need to win the doubles to have a chance here, B-Nard will struggle with Mayer...

Life is an orange and you're just a little pip.

Outstanding Match out of nowhere. If Flo is on fire, only a few can stop him. Ask Nadal!

Poor from Rusty with so many backhands in the net, but his lack of play on the surface should offer some consolation.

Florian was so comfortable. Slapping winners, using drop shots. He toyed with Lleyton over the last two sets.

Great result.

Hopefully Germany can wrap this up without playing a fifth rubber.

Hewitt choked 1st set *5-4 with DFs 5-5* and then 5-7

However this was unexpected result. Mayer isn't good DC player and Hewitt is good.

Another classic "planning on being incredible today, sorry" from Flo.

Not that unexpected - Flo's still a good player, Hewitt probably isn't that good on clay at this stage in his career.

We'll see how the doubles go to make a prediction. I think Hewitt will beat Stebe but Flo will have Tomic for breakfast.

Mayer surprisingly confident, he used to crumble big time under Davis Cup pressure.

Losing to Mugyer is a sign that the time has come to retire for good.
