Re: When will an English player win a GS?

Are you joking ? There is not one single English player who can win regularly on the Challenger circuit ! Never mind a slam challenger ! It won,t happen in my lifetime. There is no Englishman CLOSE TO THE TOUR ! I would love there to be one ! I like Novak for his passion and being a personality . But seriously , English slam Challenger . It won,t be likely to happen until Murray retires and by then u can bet THERE WILL BE MORE ANDY MURRAY,s . Not on his level but I bet you more and more top Brits will be scots after this .

Maybe never. If Scotland becomes independent country will Murray's triumph no longer count for UK?

I am not sure scotland can do it if they become independent. Good luck to them but we all Know Murray did it for Scotland.

Laura Robson is the best hope.

But maybe you can't become English by immigration, just British. Interesting question. Can an immigrant to England be English? I guess not, because you can only immigrate to the UK. I find this conundrum more interesting than the thread title.

Re: When will an English player win a GS?

Nobody cares.

The English are too busy dominating in proper sports like darts and snooker (barring a few of Scots). An honourable mention also goes to cycling, but that's hardly physically taxing, so doesn't really deserve to be called a sport.

In summary, we're so awesome at other sports that we let the second rate nations battle it out for the prizes in a shitty sport like tennis.

Juan Martin Del Potro

David Ferrer - Tommy Haas - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Andy Roddick - Juan Carlos Ferrero - Mardy Fish

Being a Aussie she,ll be Desendant from a English convict as the Aussie accent comes from the London cockney accent ! On a technical term Andy Murray,s English and I am Desendant from a Italian . So let's stop all the technical crap and just call her British . Seeing as she grew up in London , I,de say English !

People's sense of national identity , comes from themselves . Laura is constantly getting asked in interviews if she will ever switch , and she repeatedly sounds slightly annoyed by it ! And probebly the biggest point , do you hear a Aussie accent when she talks ? Me neither !
