Re: Andy Murray: one slam wonder?

Honestly, i expected more from MTF after Murray winning gs, not enough troll threads, even the server didnt crashed for a second after the win.

Weak era.

Cmon.
Exactly. Nadal was the ultimate example of a six-slam wonder before going on a tear and becoming an 11-slam wonder.

8th day of July 2012: 7-time Wimbledon champion!

Once upon a time there was a myth about strong and weak eras. On this glorious day the clownery was eventually unmasked: 30 y.o. past-prime daddy Fed became #1 once again in the supposed strong "Spartan" era with his rivals at their peak.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!

Re: Andy Murray: one slam wonder?

Maybe 1 more one if he is lucky and play in tornado conditions, draw cant possibile open this well again while other player has 1 day rest. Mugray in overall deserved winner because of his will and being presistant over the years, but game wise this was just horible, DelPo atleast played fantastic matches

One of the worst and less deserved slam winners by quality of play since Johanson.

U no see Gaudio win from uber choke 04????

Djokovic had a super hard draw. Ferrer in a rigged semi tough.

Djoker can't play in wind too bad!!!

I hope Nole and Murray both win 0 majors for the rest of their careers. They have set tennis back 200 years with their last match

Re: Andy Murray: one slam wonder?

Only time Murray can win a GS:

Opponent retires in final

Opponent forfeits before match and hence Mugaray wins by walkover

Everyone protests at AO because of the prize money. Murray, desperate for slams, is the only guy that turns up and collects his slam without even stepping foot on court

Extreme winds infuriating his opponent.

Only ways he can ever win a slam.

Luckily for him option 4 occured yesterday.

Djokovic earned his fair share of easy draws for playing every single one against Federer or Nadal and winning some. Anyways happend once for Mugray and wont again luckily.

Are you saying Nole sucks? He beat a 5 time champ to get it done.

Nole doesnt suck but Mugray is less scared from him then from Fedal. If any1 of those was against him tonight bagels would be flying. Djokovic was so close to turn this around but stamina didnt let him, he did that before but when opponent constantly makes reallies long and push its matter of time u will get tired, its Nole fault for playing like crap 2 sets or he would finish this earlier.

Re: Andy Murray: one slam wonder?

He won't be a one slam wonder.

The first is always the hardest, he's proved that. He's got over the hill and he can now play his best tennis with not as much pressure by far. He knows what it takes to win a slam final. He's now won two five set finals against Federer and Djokovic, Nadal is the next test for Murray and I don't have any doubt he can overcome that challenge. I honestly think he'll win five or six slams in his career.

They're both not great with the wind though. If Nadull had been playing either it woulda been 6-1 6-2 6-1 beatdown. Both of them were pushing the ball and it was difficult to play controlled offence for a lot of it.

As I said the AO semi pissed over it quality-wise although I preferred this result.
