Genoa CH F: Montañes def. Robredo 6-4 6-1

Great result for tennis and Fat Albert's first title this year and most importantly he avoided the turkey status.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Genova CH F: Montanes d. Robredo 6-4 6-1

H2H was something like 6-0 in Robredo's favour at ATP-CH level plus more victories in futures and juniors for Robredo.
First title for Montanes in more than 2 years.

Re: Genoa CH F: Montañes def. Robredo 6-4 6-1

Albert has lost a little bit of speed after the hernia problems and he was hardly missing.

Very strange that for the most of the match Boredo was the crowd favourite. Not sure if he bought everyone from Hostalric in the crowd but at the end they appreciated Montañes performance.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Obviously more people know Robredo, as a former top player. No clue why anyone is surprised by this?

Robredo is never a crowd favourite anywhere outside of Spain. Don't be bitter Montañes has had injury and form issues as well.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

So Robredo is more well known, doesn't mean he is ever a crowd favourite outside of Spain, especially with all his bad form. Montanes only beat the better Italians this week.

being crowd favourite or not depends on the opponent he's facing. in this case it's really no surprise more ppl were rooting for Robredo.
