US Open Super Saturday Is Dead [CONFIRMED]

US Open Will Scrap the Super Saturday Model

It was only a matter of time before a disaster such as the one yesterday forced the guys running the schedule to set things right.

There will be no more super saturday... ever.

It says that the men are being given a choice. They can either play semis on friday and final on sunday or semis on saturday and final on monday
likewise, women will play semis thursday and final saturday or semis friday and final sunday

Tennis Wins
USTA loses (that's what you get for being mug of the month every september)

Thank the lords.

As I said in the US Open schedule thread it was coming. No more Stupid Saturday.

Only 30+ years too late but a positive.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....

Certainly the players would go for Friday semis and Sunday finals.Lots of players are also in Davis Cup the following week so playing Monday is always problematic.
Also hopefully no more 3 days for R1 matches unless they start like the French on Sunday

But the US open lives. Now that is a shame. We need to move this f ing tournament out of this F'n country. Capiche?

Are they still going to play R1 over 3 days?

What if both men and women want to play semis on Friday and final on Sunday? Obviously that won't fly. Maybe they could alternate years for the much preferred Sunday final.
