Hippo vs. Rumplestiltskin- who will win?

They way he has been playing and keeping his mind together- Safin. He has the weapons, he has the moves. Radek is not an easy customer, it will be tough but if Marat keeps it together I see him lifting the trophy tomorrow.

Re: Hippo vs. Rumplestiltskin- who will win?

you know how the story of Rumpelstilskin goes

say Rumpelstilskin 3 times and he disappears

now tomorrow, Marat has to win 3 sets
win the 1st and say "Rumpelstilskin"
repeat it again taking the 2nd, and finally winning the 3rd.

Game Set and Match.

sounds simple right ???

Re: Hippo vs. Rumplestiltskin- who will win?

Rumplestiltskin for 3 reasons: -

(a) He has got the better of Safin a few weeks ago, in front of a Russian crowd!

(b) Rumplestiltskin plays serve and volley and Safin doesn't cope too well against that strategy.

(c) Safin's ankle may get worse over night - the sort of injury that does often do that.

Good Luck Marat - just hope he doesn't underestimate Rumplestiltskin This match is a true case of "beauty and the beast" though isn't it?

Re: Hippo vs. Rumplestiltskin- who will win?

If the ankle is okay (I realy hope it is) Marat should win in three sets. With one tie-break.
Let's face it:
1. It's BERCY. The tourney loves MArat, and Marat loves teh tourney.
2. It's best of 5 sets. Do you see Marat losing to Stepanek in 5 sets? And in Stepaneks first career final? I can't picture it.
3. Marat is playing too well.

My only worry is Marat's ankle.

Anastasia Myskina, Marat Safin thank you.
