Marat's ankle

Marat has just taken a nasty fall during his SF. Apparently twisted his ankle. He was limping to his chair and is now taking a medical timeout- it is 1-0 first set to Safin.

Please please please another injury is the last thing we need here!

Re: Marat's ankle

I may have prematurely panicked- he is continuing to play. I just hope this won't affect his movement too severly.

Re: Marat's ankle

Hopefully its nothing serious. Though he started very well, I doubt he will play as well, because of it.

Re: Marat's ankle

It doesn't look TOO bad for now- he is moving ok, and if he can keep the points short he can still finish off the short balls. His only problem is when he is forced to cover great distances in a short amount of time he is a little bit slow off the mark.

Re: Marat's ankle

he should retire if he feels even a lil bit of pain IMO. ankle is one thing you don't want to mess around.

Re: Marat's ankle

Marat just broke to go 2-1 up

But I can definitely see a change in Canas' game plan- he is serving out wide on both sides of the court trying to go a lot behind Safin, make him cover as much ground as possible. For the moment Marat is up to the task.

Sorry Ilhame, I was freaked myself when it happened- but he seems to be ok now. Maybe a little bit slower and more cautious but still playing very well!

Re: Marat's ankle

He is now 4-1 up- he is pounding serves in, hitting great off the ground, and he is even moving in to volley now and then.
