Is Tipsy a better competition to Djoko/Potro than Ferrer?

I really don't get why MTF are saying Tipsy will cause Delpo/Djoko more trouble that Ferrer, Firstly he is 2-5 against Djokovic, and those 2 wins were in last year's WTF (anyone would beat Nole) and in blue clay Madrid. He is then 0-3 against del Potro and hasn't taken a set against the Argentine best performance was winning 5 games in a set.

Whereas Ferrer is 5-8 against Nole with it being 2-7 on Clay though the other win is questionable as well which was in last year's WTF. And Ferrer is 5-2 against del Potro and is 2-2 on hard. I don;t think Ferrer has the same fear that he has against Djokovic than he has on Federer (due to being same age range) and Nadal (BFF).

Neither is competition for Djokovic. Both could trouble Del Potro a little. Ferrer will get annihilated by Djokovic on Saturday.

Ferrer just won to be in semi, he wont beat Nole even fully fit.

None of them are optimal but you got to work with what you have. Tipsarevic is better at playing the "all-out" tennis needed to win.

It's not about "best competition" as in who loses the prettiest. It's about winning the title. Neither of Tipsy or Ferrer probably had the tools to go all the way but with Ferrer he's tried so many times and failed horribly.

Tipsy you can at least give the benefit of doubt. He hasn't had that many chances deep in major tournaments

Ferrer has been in the last 16 of countless slams without even 1 final....do the math

Ferrer is tougher against Delpo that's for sure.

What benefit of a doubt that he will never reach far in slam and will choke. Tipsy is to up and down to compete against either Djoko/Del Potro, at the very least Ferrer will force those two to play great tennis to beat him.

Re: Is Tipsy a better competition to Djoko/Potro than Ferrer?

Tipsarevic probably has the more big game that can attack Delpo/Djok BUTTT he cannot be relied on mentally. in a SF at least we know that Ferrer is going to fight his brains out and likely lose by playing worse rather than choking

<3 Roger Federer <3 David Ferrer <3 Juan Martin Del Potro <3 Ernest Gulbis <3

------------------------ <3 Richard Gasquet <3

Rafael Nadal

Tipsy would be harder for Nole, Ferrer would be harder for DelPo.

Re: Is Tipsy a better competition to Djoko/Potro than Ferrer?

Are you serious? Its like saying that Wawrinka is a better competitor to Federer than Raonic or Simon, even if they are all ranked in the top 20...

Tipsy is an inferior player to Ferrer and Del Potro, thats it. He is truly lucky to be born into a very weak era where 2 mickey mouse titles can secure him a top 10 spot, let alone a top 8 spot in the slams. Just look at his draw before the QF, he lost 2 sets to Rufin...

FEDERER
KARLOVIC

RAONIC

AND ALL OTHER SERVEBOTS

SERVEBOTS ARE TENNIS

Roughly equal, I think. They are feisty and able to keep up with Djok for the first two sets. But Nole looks fit while both of them had to slug it out, so it probably won't make any difference tomorrow.

Re: Is Tipsy a better competition to Djoko/Potro than Ferrer?

The correct answer is yes. Tipsaveric is in top form and has fared well vs Djokovic since last year. I think his mindset vs him has changed in correlation to his tennis. Have a look at Tipsaveric's first two sets vs Novak in last years US Open for clear evidence that's he an actual threat.

Re: Is Tipsy a better competition to Djoko/Potro than Ferrer?

Yes, he definitely is more of a competition to Djokovic.

Djokovic basically has five asterisk losses to Ferrer.

As for Del Potro, Ferrer is obviously a bigger threat to him.
