I'm telling you what I saw and also what HE SAID about his preparations. Choose not to believe him if you prefer.

You create your own luck. Lopez was never beating Murray. His backhand is a massive liability especially against one of the top 4.

Did he say this particular performance can be attributed to him playing the Olympics? No it if YOU I choose not to believe.

murray wins this USO, federer stands no chance.

ASI Director-General Gautam Sengupta said the list of India's treasures held abroad was "too long to handle" and there was a need for a "diplomatic and legal campaign" for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the Royal Collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

What he said was that because of the Olympics he did not get to do his usual training block in Miami after Wimbledon.

This is the training block he does where he acclimatises to the hot, humid conditions ready for the US hardcourts by doing sprints, hitting the gym and piling on muscle to sustain him through this part of the season.

This year he spent that portion of time in cool damp London and this is impacting his ability to deal with the conditions out there. This makes sense, it was evident in R1 and it was clearly evident out there today. In past years with his normal schedule he has handled this sort of condition far far better.

those tiebreaks were terrible from Lopez

Roger Federer

Form is temporary, class is permanent

"The more you lose, the more they believe they can beat me. But believing is not enough, you still have to beat me" RF.

"He is capable of hitting shots which others don't even think about trying" Lendl on RF.

Conditions are the same for all players, some are better prepared and naturally are able to deal with that better than others, so it's irrelevant at the end of the day.

All that aside, Lopez played well today but some boneheaded shot choices on big points really was his undoing. He probably should have won that second set and had chances to win the fourth. He might have been looking at a four set win, not a four set loss.

Some good fight, some great points, some good US Open moments.

People here are so annoying. He won this match and that's that. No one cares about the scoreline at this point. He wasn't playing well and yet he still won and that's the point! He played well enough when he needed to and that's what separates him from guys ranked below him. Now get over it.

Great fight from Andy. He was obviously struggling out there but remained calm and was the more clutch player in tight moments.

His problem here is obviously the humidity. Hopefully he recovers well physically from this and gets some more night matches.
