He lost in 09 after winning Wimbledon and Cinci.
Exactly, I was just about to post this. 2005 and 2007 yes, but 2009 no. He fell one set short. I think 2012 will be like 2005 and 2007 and NOT 2009. Rogie's in better form now than he was in 2008-2011 (well he got it at the very end of 2011 after the USO loss and 6 weeks time off). Rogie's 2012 is almost as good as his 2007. Rogie's 2004-2007 was what dreams are made of, 11 grand slams in a four year period alone (being in 13 finals during those 4 years as well, lost 2006 and 2007 FO finals) and also I believe 42 total singles titles from 2004-2007 (i.e. Edberg won 42 titles his whole career for 14th on the list since 1968). I've never seen or heard of another player having a 4-year span like Rogie did from 2004-2007 seemingly winning everything in sight, except for clay from 2006 onward because of Rafa. As great as Rafa and Djokovic are, I don't think either one will ever have as good of a 4-year period as Rogie did. Rafa has won 11 grand slams, but over a 7-8 year period. Djokovic has won a few himself, but he's no G.O.A.T. either.
