Re: US Open R3 WWW: Marin Cilic vs Kei Nishikori

These two met in the USO in 2010 and had an epic match won by Nishikori, but he was so spent from the match that he had to retire in the next round. I think we are in for another long and well contested match. Nishikori in 5 is my pick.

Supporting the unusual strokes gang: Dolgopolov, Mayer, Mannarino, Tomic

Re: US Open R3 WWW: Marin Cilic vs Kei Nishikori

I love both players and would be fine with any of them winning this. But Kei is playing much better at the moment, so I kind of hope to see him win and get another shot at Murray in a Slam QF.

Don't let the AO QF fool you, this will be nothing like that if it happens: Murray had just beaten a collection of the finest mugs the ATP can offer, while Kei had played three consecutive marathons including vs Tsonga. Murray would be favored in a potential QF match with Kei, but it'd be nothing like Australia at all.

Marin has already beaten Murray here but I haven't been impressed with his play at all so far, but I guess that if he beats Kei it's because he's improved his level.

i am pretty sure nishikori will take this. he has won their last two encounters one of which at the usopen and as mark lenders has said kei seems to be in much better shape at the moment.

Only thing he shouldn't do is to play marathons before Kei's match, and he did. He deserved to be smash, on and off the court.

Easiest win of the week for Marin. He was fresh as a daisy and--as always--cool as a cucumber.

He'll be going home with at least $120,000 in prize money for his efforts this week. How much have you clowns earned this week, combined?

Don't quote petar_pan along with the others, he claims to be Marin's biggest fan.
