I dare to say it's a record for a whole slam not just 1st round but I've no stats

Re: what's the record for number of matches

The overall record for the US Open is 9 (in all seven rounds) in 1989. So this has tied that.

The overall record at any Slam (all rounds) is 14 at the Australian Open in 2002.

This is the record for most 0-2 set comebacks in R1.

Better than the record that was broken last year, for retirements.

Don't quite know what to think of this. Are they choking, fighting or fixing?

I want that record of 14 broken. Let's just hope for a few (6) chokes to come along the way

8. A Krickstein def A Volkov 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-2 6-3
9. Y Noah def 3-6 3-6 7-6 7-5 6-2

Je n'enlève rien à ce que Novak a fait mais je crois qu'il faut encore faire davantage. Rafa a neuf Grands Chelems, moi seize, lui deux.

Levine? I don't care how good your opponent is playing, he can be ripping 120 mph winners off the return, and serving 160 mph aces every serve but when you're up 2 sets to 0 and 4-0 and lose, it's a choke

Re: what's the record for number of matches

ESPN just said record was 14 but who needs them when we have StatRacket here. McEnroe probably just read MTF to get his info

Yeah, I really wanted to include that retired one given that Moya is my all time favourite player.

Re: what's the record for number of matches

14 is probably out of reach given that the tournament is already past halfway in terms of matches, but 9 in first round is amazing. you would expect more of such matches when conditions change rapidly and with rain delays but that hasn't really been the case.
