Re: US Open R1: Federer def Young 6-3, 6-2, 6-4

Roger was so so tonight. he did look uncomfortable. I think Young has the game to go somewhere. I just hope not down the drain. He has the ability to match some really great shots. He reminds me kind of Gasquet who also has had his own problems. I think both have never gotten over being highly touted, but never living up to their talent because they're both weak in the head.

Re: US Open R1: Federer def Young 6-3, 6-2, 6-4

Look at the bright side --- at least Donald didn't get bageled by Fed like Djoker in the Cincy final.

Commentators suggested Young needs better conditioning --- especially legs, perhaps go out to Las Vegas to work with Gil Reyes. Sounds like a good idea, so why wouldn't he do that? It's tragic to see such talent go to waste by misguided family-based decisions.

Of no real importance, but has anyone noticed that the brim of Donald's cap is always cockeyed --- off center to the left --- which gives him the look of someone mentally challenged. I've never seen his cap centered, can't think that Nike wants him to look doltish. Re cap, Donald, just don't do it.

Roger at 50% was more than enough for Young. Realy surprised by the few initial games where Young came uo to the net and played some good volleys.

As for Roger he needs to improve and he still has 2 matches before meeting probably davydenko or fish.

Modest W/UE ratio, needs to improve that.
FH was working fine, quite a few BH shanks, serve was alright and he was moving quite well. Good net play too.

Hope for a more error free 2nd round.

Allez Roger.

HORRIFIC

I love MTF.
numbers to do not always describe quality. there have been amazing matches where both players involved have had negative or even UE/W ratios.

Is Rogi a little under the weather ? Why was he sweating like that ? A troubling development...

This not a serious match for Roger

Don't trust the Ratios that much

Yes, indeed. 3 easy set for Young was highly expected of us MTF members, but upsets happens....
Anyway, Young will win Wimbledon 2013, no doubt. Im not interested in your opinion, or what do you think?
