I think less of you as a person if you are a fan of Rafael Nadal.

Wow, I agree with this.

If anything when it was Borg, Connors, McEnroe and perhaps an early Lendl which could be a similar comparison to now would be a more relevant quad.
Couldn't have put it better.

Yep i agree. I cannot even imagine how tennis will look like with players like Tomic, Dimitrov or Paire in the spotlight

Agree that WTA has become a lot more interesting these days. While no one is winning multiple slams, the same group of 6-8 people are consistently showing up at later stages of the tournament and generally the top players have become much more steady. In fact, this year WTA is more interesting than ATP because it has a larger base of decent quality potential slam/ MS series winners while in the ATP it is still 3-4 people.

WTA is not fine. Many players can win slams now but that's not because they're all that good IMO but because they're all pretty weak. If Henin, Clijsters and Williams sisters would still play at their best now, players like Kvitova, Sharapova, Radwanska, Na Li or Kerber wouldn't win titles

I mean yes in the ATP there are only 4 players who can win slams now but that's because they're too good for the rest of the field. Tsonga, Delpo, Ferrer, Berdych all could win slams if Federer,Djokovic,Nadal and Murray wouldn't play

its true that that does happen but also look at it this way: 4 of the top 5 players in the world are slam champions and the current number one has not been a slamless number one for about a year now and thats an improvement over just a year ago.

I dont think your giving those players enough credit.I mean, i agree with radwanska for sure but all of those other players could still be winning titles.

on topic i will agree with topspin doctor that when these guys leave the sport will miss them and i honestly dread what is going to happen when they're gone or not able to compete at the top anymore.

I don't think they deserve so much credit. I don't want to be disrespectful but this is what i think... their peak doesn't compare to Williams sisters, Henin's or Clijster's peak

Henin retired, Cjisters is near retirement and so is one of the Williams sisters. Bringing them into the discussion is totally pointless. Serena is the equivalent of Federer on the Women's tour so her destroying the opposition when in form is not a comment on the tour quality as a whole.

I love how Tsonga and Delpo cannot win a masters series, let alone a slam when the top 3 are around and still get hyped to the skies while Kvitova and all actually win something and still don't get recognized.

The WTA might not be at its highest quality ever but they have stabilized a lot over the past year or so and the trend is generally positive.

I agree. for the most part in slams the its been largely the same players making it to the final rounds with the few other random players getting through but thats happened on the atp tour this year too so things have been getting slightly better.
