Berdshit Losing to this all-serve clown Really, if the Czech acqured some mental strength, he'd go a long way in this sport.

Re: Winston Salem F John Isner defeats T.Berdych 3-6 6-4 7-6

Some of the things I like about John Isner:

-he stays calm in pressure situation and almost always comes up with the goods (Berdych has shown that not everyone can do this )
-he defends pretty well for a guy his height
-his second serve is not from this planet
-he is such a nice guy; he doesn't fistpump in his opponent's face (Berdych does that really well; too bad he can't win a 250 final against an "all-serve mug"), isn't over-the-top in his celebrations, and seems so down to earth
-he pisses off so many people on MTF
-because of him, me and jcempire have something in common.

I really hope he goes far in the US Open.

Not to mention Ferrer is the only top (10/20) player who's even a bigger choker than Berdych. He has choked every point he has ever played in big Slam matches (or Masters finals), makes Berdych look a benchmark for mental strength in comparison.

I didn't watch, seems as though Berdych choked (not surprising), i was hoping for Isner to win as he needs the confidence - he has some trash to take out in Flushing Meadows. Huge tournament taking out Berdych and Tsonga back to back. I'm hoping for the semi vs Djokovic, i feel he would be the biggest test for the Serb from Ferrer's quarter with the home-fans behind him.

I don't think so If Berdych plays best tennis that would be one of best. He can beat anyone, but Nadal. Nadal maybe owns Berdych.

Many people don't like Ferrer but he always play well in slams. you can't dispute it

Disappointing result, but there are lots of positives to take away from this tournament for Berdych. Also he has been blessed with a relatively kind draw at the Open. There is a possible path to the final on the top half whereas he was never beating Nole in the bottom half.

Isner is very good in tiebreakers so I was shocked to see such epic moonballing on set point against Ranoic in Toronto:
