Seems pretty good this time. One or two funny picks in Toughest Road and Sleeper are expected from the ESPN "experts"

Surprised to see Gilbert being 1 of the 3 to pick Federer.

Educating MTF clowns one post at a time.
So many fanboys to troll, so little time.

Favourite tennis matches: 2011 US Open Final & 2012 Australian Open Final, starring Novak Djokovic & Rafael Nadal, showing us just how far science can take humanity.

The US Open Final was especially enjoyable, with 'Why are there white spots all over my body?' Djokovic and 'Why am I sweating boils?' Nadal embarked on a titanic battle, concluding with the inferior player, Nadal, entering a sort of delirious state of psychosis. This allowed him to, while showing very little fatigue, consume inhuman amounts of energy, before he literally ran his legs from underneath him. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

4th quarter of WTA is wide open, so picking Shvedova/Barthel really isn't that outrageous. Bottom half generally is wide open if Serena goes down, which is why every pick other than Clijsters is in that half.

What a sad group of "experts". With the exception of Evert, who I adore, none of these folks ever won a major singles title.

I'd love to hear who Agassi, BJ King, Courier, Chang, or Navratilova would pick to win.

barthel is just way to inconsistent to really pose much of a challenge. shvedova i can kind of understand but her record here is awful

Gilbert got spooked by the bagel Nole got in Cincy.
Murray has a shot but realistically, what has he done this year besides OG. Cincy and toronto were a bust and he didn't have Nadal in the semis at WIM. He only made the Miami final.

You don't have to be a good Tennis player to know a lot about the game.

This plus predictions by experts are seldom more accurate than those made by fans/amateurs. Just look at McEnroe chaging his Wimby pick midway through (like many of us here at MTF) and looking silly at the end when Fed won Wimbledon. As long as Federer wins RG, I don't mind if they all pick Nadal for the title.

Yeah, the 'slam winning experts' sure had a much more sane pick than the other scrubs

Re: ESPN Experts' US Open Picks

I've got to agree with the experts, it's between Djokovic and Federer for the title. Murray doesn't have the mentality to win a Slam and the rest aren't good enough to beat the top two.

Re: ESPN Experts' US Open Picks

i could see murray winning but maybe not if he has to beat djokovic and federer back to back

i know he did at the olympics but im sure that the whole atmosphere helped out a bit with that

not saying its not impossible for him but he'd definately benefit from someone taking one of those 2 out
