For me peak Nole is better than peak Federer. Federer has better serve and voleys but Nole has better return of serve and is stronger from baseline. In Cincinnati finals we simply looked match between 100% ready Fed against 50% ready Nole and to beat Federer that simply is not enough.
Whilst I respect your opinion. This was Federer's first tournament on Hard, compared to Novaks having won Toronto. Novak has had better preparation.

This isn't peak Federer. I know Novak fans would love to say it is. But Federer was simply awesome in 2005-2007. He really didn't lose any baseline rallies, or miss many first serves in those days. Federer played like that in the first set. He used to play like that in every game, of every match, in every tournament.

Novak is still the favourite for USO.

Fed was awesome from 2005 to 2007 because he didnt had any competition. Imagine that Nadal Federer and Murray retire or dont play tennis at all. Nole would me more stronger than Fed in that years.

Anyone who says that their players "prime" is in a few matches where they played lights out/had a lot of luck has no clue what they're on about. I am not even insulting you, your claim is hilarious though.

Yes because Safin was in his peak and Nole was just kid who just started playing tennis. No way today any guy 16 to 20 years old can beat anyone from first 5 at ATP list.

Nole was a kid in 2008? He had the AO title, IW title, Rome title, Hamburg SF for no 2 in the world, RG SF and Queens RU.

Some kid, some kid.

Tennis is not athletics. It is impossible to back up such a statement with facts. If this was sprint, you could point to Bolt and Blake running historically fast. In tennis, you can't. Instead of speculating which era is strongest (because it is no more than pure speculation) one should settle for enjoing the current era. It doesn't have to be better than the previous ones to be enjoyable.

Woah, there. You're using information from 2008. The guy has not seen any tennis before 2010, so that's a bit harsh. And you're using facts no less. Shame on you and your avatar.

For me most realistic surface is HC. There we can see real tennis , who has better forehand backend return of serve tactics.

Who is stronger player in exchanges from a baseline.

And on this surface especially in last 2 years Nole has more wins against Fed.

In modern tennis peak years are from 23 to 32.
