2009 #1
2010 #2 (#1 not Nole)

and of course 2012 #1 for both ranking and race.

2011 clearly the anomaly.

I admit a case could be made for Fed if you value the small tournaments highly.

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Simon - Berdych - Djokovic - Chardy

I look at the achievements and not only at ranking points. You know, the big picture. Something small-johnny has probably never heard of.

Hum... on one side the ATP rankings based on objective facts. On the other side, a subjective opinion of a credibility challenged poster of questionable quality...

Though call.

I agree Djokovic has achieved more the last twelve months. However, if we look at the last six months Federer is very clearly ahead. I imagine that is why this thread askes about the last seven, as this is not such a forgone conclusion.

Considering Federer still edges the last 12 months rankings by 75, it's ridiculously biased to claim that "it's not even close."

No one's valuing the small tournaments more highly, they're accorded the values they have according to the ATP point system. They both have one grandslam each, but Federer has one Masters more than Djokovic and has two other titles. Grandslams are not the only titles of the year otherwise players would not even bother playing in the other tournaments. And even if they are, they both have only one GS title each YTD. Don't know where Djokovic fans get off AS IF he beat Nadal in the RG final.

QFT.

As for this year's RG final, didn't that occasion in particular close the book on Djokovic "having Nadal's number" and likewise nonsense?
He hasn't, and hasn't ever been close to his 2011 level ever since USO 2011. Sorry folks.

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

I don't know if Federer 2012 is better than Djokovic 2012, but one thing is sure, i take Wimbly over AO, IW/Madrid over Miami and 2 500 wins over a heartbreaking loss in a slam final.

If Murray win the USO, we'll have a long time for determinate who will have the better season, in this case, i guess it would depend of the OG and WTF's winners.

2 Slams against 1 Slam. Not even close my dear

So you think that Dubai and Rotterdam together have the same value as RG or Wimbledon? I'm not argueing with the ranking system, any tard can count the points from the tournaments together, but in reality, the Slams, if we are talking about who had the better year, are much more important than the other tournaments. Deal with it.

But I remember you are also the poster you didn't understand why the Blue Clay from Madrid was bad. Well, now the ATP abolished the surface which makes your whole argumentation even more stupid.

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Simon - Berdych - Djokovic - Chardy

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

Federer's had the better 2012, but obviously if we're counting last 12 months from this point Nole's US Open would swing it in his favour.

So player who is 3rd best in surfaces they play on 60% of the year (counting indoor hard as a seperate 'surface' where he is for sure better than Nadal) should not be called best player in the world. And you know that if Novak played 1 pre AO 250 + Belgrade he would be ranked no1 and those MMs don't realy matter to who is the best player in the world, do thay? And I'll give you this, Fed is no1 favourite for the OGs. But he's also no2 or 3 for every other tournament till next years Halle.
Not talking about the 12 months ranking, I'm talking about the race that began with this season. Only points from this 2012 season. Isn't everything else just subjective? I mean if we are discussing who is having the better season, lets look at what was achieve this season, right?
