Re: Federer - Djokovic similarities (Djokovic is having his 'Fed 2005' year)

Yeah not even close.. So far, Novak has won only 2 titles and has lost 3 finals. Compare that with Federer who had 7 titles by Wimbledon, and had lost no finals. Of course, technically Novak could have a stellar rest of the year and make it a more "comparable" year to Federer's 2005, as there are plenty of tournaments left especially indoors whereas in 2005 Federer had that slight ankle problem which kept him out of most of the indoor season.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Would be great if he could produce a WTF of the same sublime quality as Nalbandian vs Federer back in 2005

For those looking for similarities, check out Djokovic' resume and compare to Hingis. 3 AO, 1 W, 1 USO......

Of course not, because achievement wise, it is not even close either way.

So far he is the male Hingis.

And I see many parallels in their careers, but Nole will do less. I think his career may be an echo of Fed's, the same patterns, but with slightly more mental toughness to accompany a LOT less talent.
Nole might end up with half the number of slams Federer will.

Nole's 2012 is not bad so far. But Fed's 2005 is great, maybe greatest ever. Not even close.

Endless Djokovic/Federer Debates (Their rivalry)

This is the big question guys. In 2011 Djokovic had a stellar year. No one can deny that. But lets face it, Roger was still in his 2010-2011 slump. Since the USO last year he has been a different player altogether. No one can deny that either. So now the question remains: Is Federer at 30 years of age better than Djokovic in his prime?

Let it rip guys. It's all yours.

Dunno where you got those stats but I love it. The titles, matches won, and sets won are telling. Incredible that at 30 years of age Fed is well ahead in the stats. Can Djokovic make up for it, or do we accept that Fed is just in another league altogether?

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

As far as I know the season is not over yey. Djokovic usually performs on the highest level during the HC swing in North America.
If Djokovic wins US Open, he will eclipse Federer not matter what happens later.
