Ranking points are subjective as well you clown. They are arbitrarily settled by the ATP people. Maybe next year they are different, a Slam final is worth more points and Djokovic would be ahead of Fed. It's all subjective.

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Simon - Berdych - Dimitrov - Chardy

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

Why is my post deleted? I didn't insult any one and I was talking on topic, what the hell is this?

@Big John, everything is subjective. If you count H2H Novak is better, if you count Slams, Novak is better, if you count points Fed is better (as far as Race goes), but only 280. But from more tournaments and smaller tournaments. But Fed did win 2 masters and 2 500s. But Novak was better on clay. You can go on and on, but you will still think Fed is better and I wil still think Novak is better (right now) so this is all pointless...

Djokovic | Tipsarevic | Querrey

At this point, I'm gonna have to agree about one word: pointless.

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

Djokovic did have a slam win, a final and a SF.
So has the advantage there on the big stage.
Fed has done better else where and leads by a few points for the year.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXÈ

Federer

Del Potro

Gulbis

Janowicz

If slams are all that matters yes, but there are so many other tournaments in the year. WTF is also important and Federer won that. Like I said, Djokovic has a case, a strong case at that to still be the best player of the past 12 months even without the number 1 ranking but to claim it's not even close is absurdly retarded and ridiculously biased when the supposedly lesser player is ranked above the other.

Quote:
So you think that Dubai and Rotterdam together have the same value as RG or Wimbledon? I'm not argueing with the ranking system, any tard can count the points from the tournaments together, but in reality, the Slams, if we are talking about who had the better year, are much more important than the other tournaments. Deal with it.

But I remember you are also the poster you didn't understand why the Blue Clay from Madrid was bad. Well, now the ATP abolished the surface which makes your whole argumentation even more stupid.
I am not saying that and even if you combine the points accorded to Dubai and Rotterdam - they don't come close to a slam. Yes it's the big tournaments that matter but are you actually saying that Djokovic winning ONE more match in grandslams against Federer this year makes him automatically the better player of 2012? If so, that's completely ridiculous and is just you working overtime to continue discrediting Federer. They both have ONE grandslam title each, like I said, I don't know where you get off as if Djokovic has won two grandslams this year. He hasn't. They have one grandslam title each and in this case, the smaller tournaments become the tiebreaker. Deal with it.

They abolished it because two prima donnas started complaining and threatened to boycott. I didn't say the surface couldn't be improved but it wasn't unplayable and there are other dangerous surfaces like the clay in Monte Carlo which actually gave injuries to the players. Anyway -- you're completely going off tangent here and resorting to ad hominem arguments which makes your argumentation the more stupid one.

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

Why are people talking about the 52 week rankings?!

We're talking about 2012 not 2012 and last 5 months of 2011....

http://www.atpworldtour.com/Rankings/YTD-Singles.aspx

The race points are what determines who has accumulated more points in 2012. The top 3 are very close in this regard even if nadal is 2000 points behind in the 52 week rankings.

Each of the top 3 can be the year end #1. djokovic and Roger have almost the same to defend until the end of the year (djokovic something like 4000 and Roger 3900) while nadal has considerably less. Hence the closeness in the race and the 2000 point gap in the 52 week ranking.

As for 2012 until now which is what we can observe without speculating Roger is 245 points ahead of djokovic. And looking only at slams djokovic slightly edges Roger with 1 W, 1 F and 1 SF while Roger has 1 W and 2 SF.

Imo Roger has been the best player in 2012 although it's close and it can surely change until the end of the year.

Re: Federer 2012 > Djokovic 2012?

why did beating roddick, gonzalez, teen clay king nadal, old agassi, baghdatis and hewitt make federer important?

a down and out djoker is compared to a trouble-free federer?
2 weakass clowns tanked french open & wimbledon despite having 2 set leads vs. a mediocre 5 set player federer. LOLOLOL

fed trolls overestimated djoker in 2011 to make federer look like an old, self-destructing, declining warrior hero. what a piss take.

lol at the notion that djoker was amazing when he was injured in the 2011 us open and out of control in the 2011 french open semi.
