2012 Olympics 3R: Del Potro overcomes Simon, 6-1 4-6 6-3

Watched most of the third set and it wasn't pretty. Two players who are not really comfortable on grass... Delpo in particular was atrocious at the net the couple of times he came forward (except for a nice BH volley), though he served pretty well.

But a win is a win and Argentina gets a little revenge over France after being beaten in Basket and Handball yesterday night.

Del Potro Hopefully his form will improve in his next match.

Always good to see Shitmon knocked out of an event.

A win is a win, but that was some unbelievable clowning in the second set and the end of third . I've come to expect that from many of my favorites, but not Delpo No chance to ever win another Slam if such blips aren't sorted out.

Still, awesome first set. That's how he should look to play in the remainder of this tournament and the rest of the year.

A victory is a victory, but Ferrer is the favourite right now. At least, I expect that Del Potro make a good perform today in mixed doubles an try to play a closer match against Ferrer

Poor match overall, Gilles didn't serve anywhere near the way he served in his two matches and gifted Delpo the early break in the third set. In my opinion, Gilles really could have won this because Delpo isn't comfortable on the grass at all but his mental walkabouts cost him again.

It was exactly the kind of match Gilles normally wins, scrappy. He didn't serve well enough as mike said though, next week he'll do better on hard courts.
