There have been a number of great players from this country over the years, del Potro, Monaco, Berlocq, and Nalbandian among the latest. You also have Mayer and Chela rounding out the top 100. Zeballos, Delbonis, and Schwank are also dangerous on any given day. Canas and Corio were some of my favorite players of the past. (Interestingly, Canas finished with a 3-3 record against Federer.)
But there's always this doping angle that some people use as a way of denigrating these players. What do you think? Is cheating rampant among these players? I don't think it is, and I'm not willing to condemn an entire country over some things invidual players did. So I don't hold this stuff against them, but I know a lot of people who do. But I think it's unfair.
Listen, this is MTF. I see you just joined our beloved MTF. You'll learn. Many guys/gals come over here not to talk about tennis but to troll and release some frustration by insulting players, countries, other posters who disagree with them, you name it. I wouldn't worry too much about it. don't take it personally. There are many great players from Argentina who are very respected by true tennis fans on this board.
