Re: Kitzbuhel QF : Klizan def. Bolelli 1-6 7-5 6-1

Weird match. Bolelli started strong and very offensively. Klizan seemed like he didn´t care (he´s playing Olympics at the weekend). Klizan took the 2-0 lead in the 2nd set but Bolelli took four games in a row to 2-4 and it seemed all clear. Then suddenly Klizan out of nowhere started to play very solid tennis and took control of the match. Bolelli, obviously, helped him a lot with a lot of UEs...

Still, nice comeback considering Klizan´s Olympics question. It will be interesting to see what is Klizan going to do with this SF in Kitzbuhel. He´s playing vs. Roddick at Olympics, so he is without a chance on the grass there, but what about logistics? Honestly, I don´t know...

Kitzbuhel QF: [5] Klizan def. Bolelli 1-6 7-5 6-1

First set was one way traffic for Bolelli, with only one difficult situation, leading 3-1 and saving BP.

Klizan was down 2*-4 in the second when he decided to turn things around and take a 5-4* lead. Saved BP at 5*-5 and then broke Simone to tie things up.

In the third there was only Klizan on court, damaged Bolelli from every place on court - I recommend to watch some highlights folks

Now on Haase, I think it is very playable opponent for SF - even though he is defending champion. So who cares about Olympics, we have Kitz first !

Roger Federer - Martin Klizan - Lukas Lacko - Milos Raonic - Fernando Verdasco

Dustin Brown - Nick Kyrgios - Norbert Gombos - Stanislas Wawrinka - Dominic Thiem

like Kohli and even more than him, he will play for his chance.

You don't give up when you're one match away from an ATP tournament final and from top-50 (from number 16 for Kohli)

I guess he and Kohli will be allowed to play their Olympic first round on sunday if they reach the final

I enjoyed the match overall and I'm very happy for Klizan, he reached his first SF ever and, actually, this was even his first QF ever on the main tour .

I thought for sure Bolelli had this, but I'm not shocked he faded away so badly in the 3rd, typical Bolelli.

Simone delivering an epic choke for the fans in Kitzbuhel. Wouldn't read too much into that 3rd set score, one player gave up and the other did what he's supposed to.

Re: Kitzbuhel QF : Klizan def. Bolelli 1-6 7-5 6-1

bolelli won a title on a fast hardcourt last week, probably celebrated pretty well, then flew to play on clay at altitude.

not surprising he faded but there wasn't much he could do in the third set. klizan was pretty much unplayable.

huge week for him. I can't believe people are still talking about this Olympic bullshit as if it's more important to a pro than a potentially career-changing points hall.

klizan is on the cusp of being able to leave the challenger tour behind. big chance to win his first title and a nice pay check to boot. like he's going to ignore all that to fly to london for an early exit. the olympic hype merchants are out of their fucking minds. seems some of them are having trouble accepting that it just doesn't mean that much to some of the athletes that are there.
