Tomic - Nishi.

This is like the 5th time we've seen Tipsarevic-Nalbandian this year. I'd rather see Ungur-Muller, at this point.

If Dodig brings his balls-out giant killer game, Dodig-Delpo.

I think Wawa vs Murray depending on how Wawa plays.

Re: Best Olympics first round match?

I wish Nishikori was playing better because I'd love for him to shut Tomic up.

Of course Wawrinka/Murray is the marque match but I voted Tipsarevic-Nalbandian. Best 2-of-3 keeps fitness out of it and time has passed since The Kick so I could see Nalby pulling the upset.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

Murray/Wawrinka, but Nalby/Tipsy is close.

My thoughts exactly but I still rank it as one of the most interesting.

Coupled with Wawa - Muzza, these should be the top3 matches, no doubt.

Re: Best Olympics first round match?

Tsonga should comfortably win in straights against Bellucci. Looking forward to David's 'revenge', we all know he's a different animal when playing under the flag of his country. Wawrinka-Murray could certainly be interesting if Stan is playing at a decent level and with good confidence.

I don't see how Goffin-Monaco fits in that list, a still unproven and, for now, overrated player against an in-form, yet terrible on the surface, one. Plenty of better matches in 1R action IMO.

Troicki vs Almagro. The eventual winner vs the 11th seed in the 1st round. It doesn't get much better than that

Re: Best Olympics first round match?

Tsonga - Bellucci for me.

I've watched several Muzza-Waw matches and it's not an exciting prospect for me. Nalbandian - Tipsy will be a choking nightmare imo and Tipsy will take it with some 20 UEs less. (there won't be line judges due to the security measures, only hawk eye).

The exciting for me matches except my favorit above are -

Dimitrov - Kubot (will be much tougher than their recent encounter)
Tomic - Nishikori (bamos Nishi)
Dodig - Del Pony
Cilic - Melzer

This is my personal top 5 and i expect Tsonga, Dimitrov, Nishikori, Dodig (not a fan but feels like a perfect set up for drama) and Melzer to make it.
