Re: German tennis tournaments & German winners

Interesting fact: There is only one German WTA tournament left and 4 ATP tournaments.

Boris Becker never won any of the current tournaments (Halle, Hamburg, Stuttgart or Munich) but Stich won all of them!

Re: German tennis tournaments & German winners

The Sport1-commentator said that Stuttgart Weißenhof is the oldest tennis tournament in the world after Wimbledon.
I can't believe that and didn't find anything about it. That's bullshit, isn't it??

Re: German tennis tournaments & German winners

Does anyone remember the Berlin Open as an ATP tournament? :O

So said to see all these WTA tournaments like Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Filderstadt & Co - and nothing is left...

Congratulations DTB!

Yeah, the lack of WTA tournaments in Germany is bugging me as well. I still remember the days when we had a chance to host a combined men/women event as lead up to the French Open, but the DTB didn't want to move the women's event from Berlin to Hamburg. And now, 10 years later, the Berlin Open are completely gone and the German Open have been downgraded. Talk about missed opportunities.
