Moya withdraws from Paris

from: Moya renuncia al torneo de Paris
Sorry it's in Spanish only.
It basically says he's not feeling good, and prefers to withdraw as he did in Madrid.
He said so on Sunday evening just in time to rearrange the seedings

Carlos, Tommy, Rafa, Feli, Nicolás, Marcel
Rainer, Radek, Benji Becker, Jarkko Nieminen, Melzer, Nalbandián, Tursunov, Starace, Djokovic, Youzhny

Re: Moya withdraws from Paris

In English from the Paris TMS website:

Quote:
Initially seeded 4th, Carlos Moya was forced to pull out of the BNP Paribas Masters, due to a shoulder surgery.

Hurt since the Davis cup semifinal tie against France in Alicante, late september, Moya tested his shoulder on Saturday in Paris. Still in pain, he was forced to withdraw after being examined by tournament doctor Bernard Montalvan.

Moya's withdrawal allows Tommy Haas to become the 18th seed, and Xavier Malisse, who lost in the final round of the qualifying draw, to gain a spot in the main draw. As for Michaël Llodra originally due to meet Haas in the first round, he will now face either a qualifyer or a lucky-loser.

Re: Moya withdraws from Paris

Moya, I am sure, wants to do everything he can to be healthy for the DC final.

Good Luck, Carlos.

Re: Moya withdraws from Paris

i think it will be wise for moya to miss the TMC then play the DC final because he has never won it when spain won due to injury so this is a goldedn chance coz its at home on clay

Re: Moya withdraws from Paris

if this is serious and he doesnt play TMC
then the lineup could be very strange in Houson and include the current #10 (if Nalbandian is out because of hip as well)

No Federer, No Moya, No Coria, No Nalbandian.... that could be one strange TMC

Sounds like a slightly drained draw.

Nalbandian was supposed to be on Roddick's quarter of the draw, now the semis (possibly even the final) are Andy's.
