I dont like him...I dont like him at all...but he is the greatest player ever,so what can You say but well done and congrats, well done again and again...great achievment, maybe hardest he achieved-when You look how many time Rafa and Nole won against him last couple of years, and still he found his way for revenge and success...As I said I dont like him,but You must respect Roger...in other way You are just a tard...

A Serbian giving Federer the respect he deserves, congrats:worship:

Certainly very much deserved. Especially considering this is the 100th time Rafatards (now including Noletards) and just fools in general counted him out. I mean how many times have people said "this is his last slam" "he'll never get back to #1" throughout the years.

Hopefully for tennis he continues to always have the drive and motivation to be the best he can be. I mean even if you don't like the guy, you would have to be an idiot to think the tour would be better off without him. His achievements and place in the game give value to Rafa and Novak being on the tour.

weird bump btw but read this on the first page, crazy to think even after this, almost 6 years later he got to #1 again and won 3 more slams in the meantime

can def find similar ones for Djokovic and Nadal too
The Big 3’s longevity and ability to keep fighting back when counted out, so many times and for so many years, always amazes me

Only a 2 year delay.

You're right... what an agonising 2 years it's been for his fans. I'm sure Roger would have played every little tiny-winy tournament leading up to his unexpected premature defeat to Soderling to end his run, but he was not to know. Just glad he managed to get it back so late in his career just as everyone had written him off. Hats off even more for the late achievement.

He'll own it when? Midnight London time? Still has about 6 hours.

If he keeps #1 through October 15, he will get to 300 weeks.

Laver arguably has around 303 weeks, roughly translated, 5.88 YE #1's.

Tilden, William Renshaw, and Gonzales lead all time with 364 weeks, roughly translated, 6.5 YE #'s.

If Federer holds his #1 until January 13, 2014, he can break this record too.

Nike commemoration

From Roger Federer's facebook
Thanks for all your guesses everyone. Looks like @niketennis made me a special pair of Vapor 9’s to celebrate the #1 record! They made 287 limited edition pairs total, and some will be available for you. Very nice of these guys. Feel free to check them out @niketennis.
