Why are you comparing Fed to Wozniacki, did she get number 1 by winning a slam?

Re: Wimbledon Final 2012: Federer def. Murray 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4

Nadal is 5 years younger than Federer. 5 YEARS! That is a huge gap in their age. If it were 1, 2 or even 3 it wouldn't be that big of a deal but 5 years is half a damn decade!

This is why it was always silly to overly compare their careers. Nadal (26), Nole (25), and Murray (25) was always a much better comparison. They're essentially in the same generation.

Suggest comparing Federer to who? Connors had 6+ years on Mac & nearly 4 years on Borg. He had a better h2h with both players, losing record though healthier than Fed's. Navratilova had a 12+ yr age difference with Graf, tied 9-9. 12>6>5.

Well that's one less active player that Fed has a losing record with. Who's left besides Nadal?

Have you guys seen these "congrats" words from Rafi? Even here couldn't refrain from mentioning his "injury".
Just sayin' though.

He should be thanking Rosol for allowing him to progress on his fishing skills.

Re: Wimbledon Final 2012: Federer def. Murray 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4

I thought the final was great.

Andy Murray played a brilliant set and a half, and should have won the second set too. He has nothing to be ashamed of, even when Federer was playing his best Murray had chances to get back in it, and held his nerve and serve well aside from twice when Federer forced him to drop it, he didn't give anything away. He kept his cool, kept his composure and it was a much more positive performance from him. He's improving, and he'll win a slam at some point.

Aside from the first set and a half where Federer wasnt being allowed to play his best, he was absolutely faultless in the last two sets. He didnt put a foot wrong. I was sad to see Murray lose but Federer winning, reclaiming his number one ranking, winning his 7th title and equalling Sampras's record was phenomenal to see. I didnt think he would ever get there again but he proved everyone wrong. No doubt about him being the greatest of all time.

Andy needs to win the first two sets against the top 3 and even then he still might not get over the line.
So frustrating he couldn't win that 2nd set as it was his only chance.

Gutted for him and I think its odd that on his 4 grandslam finals his opponent has always played inspired tennis.

You'd think that Fed might have an off day once in those meetings like he did against Del Potro. Not a chance!

Fed Serving first for the first 3 sets ?
Not good for Andy either in hindsight.
