Nadal/Djoko exo postponed due to RN injury-2 wks rest

Well to add to the "Nadal never loses when healthy" narrative he's had to postpone the Bernabau event. Tendinitis of patellar tendon & recommended 2 weeks complete rest by doctors. Not that surprising given the Times story yesterday mentioning the knees & the photos of him clearly having had injections at Wimbledon...

Rest up for the Olympics Rafa! And no, I & I'm sure most sane Rafa fans won't be putting loss down to injury. He played, he lost - Rosol was incredible in the final set & it's Rafa's fault for not playing well enough early on to put him away. A blessing in disguise to lose then anyway - wasn't going to win in the form he was in & gets the time to recover that he wouldn't have had otherwise...

I knew it. A healthy Nadal would never crash out to Rosol. Get well soon Rafa

I thought this Wimbledon gave him two weeks rest already.

so that is what he was referring to in his presser right after the loss when he said "he won't bring it up now because it would sound like an excuse".

First of all,why in the world would they have scheduled an exho at this time of the year, especially in between Wimbledon and Olympics.Normally they do this exhibition stuff in November/December when the season is over.

It's a bit cold in Nov/Dec for them to play in Bernabeu

Announcement pdf from his facebook page.

Google translation:

Press Release to Rafa Nadal
Subject: Suspension of Soul Exhibition Nadal
I want to apologize to everyone, especially to fans who bought tickets to help us in this cause so good, but regrettably we can not play the exhibition ALMA NADAL in Madrid in the Bernabeu on 14 July.
Doctors have been looking at my knee and I suffer from tendinitis in the patellar tendon. I have 15 days to be at rest, which makes it impossible to play with Novak Djokovic as we planned and announced.
On Monday I started with the medical and recovery treatment in order to arrive in good condition at the Olympics in London and return to represent Spain.
My first thought is for fans who already bought tickets, but also my thanks and apologies to Novak Djokovic selflessly coming from this event, as well as the Real Madrid Foundation who worked very hard with the team of my foundation for everything out well.
We will try to find a new date for this show later.
Now combine my recovery with a mini-vacation and will return to training within 15 days.

Again, thank you all.
Rafa Nadal
This is no surprise, he has had knee tendinitis for years. It doesn't go away. He might have aggravated it again when playing football with his friends when watching the euro cup finals. We don't really know, and probably never will. He obviously wants nothing to distract or bother him from playing in the Olympics. Wish him good health and recovery!

A LA FINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!

Respectfully,
masterclass

you won't keep your objective posting with posts like this. it's interesting how every time his tendinitis returns when he loses a match which he "shouldn't" lose . If he started to feel the pain, he felt it after RG and wouldn't have played Halle if the pain was there. Only truth is that after so painfully defeat he has no will to play some exhibition when Olympics are around the corner. I bet if he won Wimby and took #1 spot he would arrived at Bernabeu even in wheelchairs. Like this would be high intensity match so he has to take care of the knees. If he can train he can play this match. Anything else is bunch of shit

Disrespectfully,
samanosuke
