What's the record for the most number of times a player has been broken while serving for the match in the same match?

Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

This is more a question of igorance than stupidity I suppose, but how is it that Federer can gain points at Basel if he loses, say quarters, when he reached the final last season?

Has it to do with what one can add and subtract when it comes to having played a certain number of 250s and 500s?

When people talk about Federer gaining points in Basel, they usually mean that he can gain points in the race - which is only the 2013 points, so last year's Basel points don't matter here.

I know of players getting broken three times serving for the match.

Theoretically four or five times is of course possible but I am not sure that has ever happened on the ATP tour.

More than that, actually. Think 5th set in a slam between two weak servers and great returners. Theoretically Isner-Mahut could have been nothing but breaks.

A Volandri-Giannessi gruelling 5-setter at RG, that's all I ask.

Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

I see players on hard courts ( and now indoors in Paris) check the court to see where the ball landed. What mark does a ball leave on these courts?

Yes, but my question is about what kind of mark can a ball leave on a hard court or on an indoor court.

Probably because of the dust, will not be as accurate as a clay mark but gives you an idea

The marks look more or less like marks on clay courts. Some hard courts show the marks very clearly, some don't.

First I thought that Raonic could not talk english, then I realized that he´s from Canada..... So my question is, how can I be so stupid? And yes, I´m really well educated and wise.

Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

Did they change the format of the WTF group matches?

I remember it always starts with the highest seed playing the lowest seed, then the winners plays each other.

In case of Nadal's Group, shouldn't it be Nadal-Wawrinka, Ferrer-Berdych on opening day?
