Why are vBookie decimal odds always expressed as 1 less on here compared to real bookies? eg. Wawrinka as favourite against Gimeno-Traver at Gataad on vBookie is 0.22 but real bookies say around 1.22.
It's because MTF use the fractional system as starting point. Wawrinka wasn't really 0,22 (or 1,22), he was 11/50. The decimal is just a translation of this fraction used as a visual aid. Payouts will follow the fractional, not the decimal (can be rounding differences).
Bookies also use 11/50 (instead of 61/50) when they describe 1,22 fractional. To be honest, I never understood why they do this, I'd have thought it would be more logical to do like MTF and give 11/50 and 0,22, or possibly 61/50 and 1,22.
